Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Woodwrecep Public Speaking Academy. By accessing our website, enrolling in our courses, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Woodwrecep Public Speaking Academy ("we," "us," or "our").

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services. Your continued use of our services following any changes to these Terms will constitute your acceptance of such changes.

These Terms apply to all students, participants, website visitors, and anyone who accesses or uses our services in any manner.

Woodwrecep Public Speaking Academy provides comprehensive public speaking training and communication skills development through various formats:

Enrollment and Payment Terms

Enrollment Process

To enroll in our courses, you must complete our registration process, which includes:

  • Providing accurate personal and contact information
  • Selecting your desired course or program
  • Completing any required assessments or questionnaires
  • Agreeing to these Terms of Service
  • Making payment according to our payment terms

Payment Terms

  • Course fees must be paid in full before course commencement unless payment plan arrangements have been made
  • We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and other approved payment methods
  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable
  • Payment plans, if available, require approval and may include additional fees
  • Corporate clients may be invoiced with agreed payment terms

Age Requirements

Participants must be at least 16 years of age to enroll in our courses. Participants under 18 years of age must have parental or guardian consent to participate.

Course Prerequisites

Some advanced courses may have prerequisites or require completion of foundational programs. These requirements will be clearly stated in the course descriptions.

Student Conduct and Responsibilities

Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect and courtesy
  • Attend scheduled sessions punctually and prepared
  • Participate actively and constructively in course activities
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information shared by others
  • Follow safety guidelines and facility rules
  • Use technology and equipment responsibly

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with learning
  • Recording sessions without explicit permission
  • Sharing course materials without authorization
  • Using offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory language
  • Violating intellectual property rights

Consequences of Misconduct

Violation of these conduct standards may result in warnings, suspension, or termination from the program without refund, depending on the severity of the offense.

Attendance and Participation

  • Regular attendance is essential for course completion
  • Missed sessions may need to be made up through additional arrangements
  • Excessive absences may result in course withdrawal
  • Advance notice of planned absences is appreciated

Intellectual Property Rights

Our Intellectual Property

All content provided in our courses, including but not limited to curricula, methodologies, training materials, videos, presentations, and written content, is the intellectual property of Woodwrecep Public Speaking Academy and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our course materials solely for your personal educational purposes during and after your enrollment period.

Restrictions on Use

You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or sell our course materials
  • Use our materials to create competing courses or services
  • Share login credentials or course access with others
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our methodologies
  • Remove copyright notices or other proprietary markings

Student-Created Content

You retain ownership of any original content you create during courses, such as speeches or presentations. However, by participating in our programs, you grant us permission to use anonymized examples of your work for educational and promotional purposes, with your explicit consent.

Feedback and Improvements

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about our courses may be used by us to improve our services without compensation or attribution.

Privacy and Video Recordings

Video Recording Policy

As part of our training methodology, practice sessions may be recorded for educational purposes. Recording policies include:

  • Video recordings require explicit consent from all participants
  • Recordings are used solely for feedback and educational purposes
  • You have the right to request deletion of your recordings
  • Recordings are stored securely and access is limited to authorized personnel
  • No recordings are shared publicly without written consent

Confidentiality

Information shared during courses, including personal experiences and practice content from other participants, must be kept confidential. Violation of this confidentiality may result in program termination.

Photo and Video Use

Occasionally, we may take photos or videos for marketing purposes. Participation in such activities is voluntary, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Course Cancellation by Students

Student-initiated cancellations are subject to the following terms:

  • Full Refund: Available if cancelled within 7 days of enrollment and before course commencement
  • Partial Refund: 50% refund available if cancelled within 48 hours of course start
  • No Refund: No refund available after the second session of any course
  • Medical/Emergency: Special consideration given for documented medical emergencies or exceptional circumstances

Course Postponement

  • Students may request to postpone their enrollment to a future course session
  • Postponement requests must be made at least 48 hours before course commencement
  • Postponement may be subject to price differences if applicable
  • Maximum one postponement per enrollment

Course Cancellation by Woodwrecep

We reserve the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment, instructor unavailability, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases:

  • Full refund will be provided
  • Alternative course dates will be offered when possible
  • Reasonable advance notice will be given

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days
  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method
  • Processing fees may be deducted from refund amounts

Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

Educational Nature of Services

Our courses are educational in nature and designed to improve communication skills. While we strive for excellence, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results from our training programs.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Woodwrecep Public Speaking Academy, its instructors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury occurring on our premises (beyond our insurance coverage)
  • Damages resulting from technology failures or service interruptions
  • Any damages exceeding the amount paid for the specific course or service

Disclaimers

  • Course content and schedules may be modified to improve educational outcomes
  • Individual results may vary based on effort, practice, and personal circumstances
  • We do not guarantee employment, promotion, or career advancement outcomes
  • Technology platforms used for virtual sessions may experience occasional disruptions

Insurance and Safety

We maintain appropriate insurance coverage for our operations. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety during course activities and should inform us of any relevant medical conditions or limitations.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, or other force majeure events.

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

Complaint Resolution Process

We are committed to resolving any concerns or complaints in a fair and timely manner:

  • Step 1: Contact our student services team to discuss the issue
  • Step 2: If unresolved, escalate to our management team
  • Step 3: If still unresolved, we may suggest mediation through an independent mediator
  • Step 4: As a last resort, formal legal proceedings may be initiated

Mediation

Before pursuing legal action, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation conducted by a mutually agreed-upon mediator or mediation service.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law, including your rights to refunds, replacements, or compensation for services that fail to meet consumer guarantees.

Changes to Terms

Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Changes may be made for various reasons, including:

  • Legal or regulatory compliance requirements
